A 28-year-old man was stopped driving on the Limassol Nicosia highway driving twice the speed limit.
According to police, he was stopped near Latsia after driving at 214km/hr instead of the allowed 100.
He was stopped during a routine police operation. When officers tested his blood he was also shown to be over the alcohol limit.
An initial test showed 45μg, while the allowed is 22, while a second test failed to take a reading.
He was arrested and later released to appear before court at a later date.
