The Paphos general hospital announced on Monday that residents suffering from heart attacks will have to be taken to private hospitals in Limassol because its angiography machine has malfunctioned.
This measure will be in place on Monday and Tuesday.
Patients will be immediately transferred by ambulance to one of the two private hospitals accompanied by a nurse and equipped with a defibrillator to deal with dangerous complications.
The Paphos hospital’s cardiology clinic said that the main symptoms of a heart attack are intense chest pain accompanied by sweating, dizziness, fainting or tachycardia, nausea or vomiting.
In some cases, it occurs with a cardiac arrest.
