The Limassol district court issued a three-day remand on Monday for a 23-year-old suspected of stealing £115 from a Paphos residence, from which he also attempted to steal a vehicle which he then abandoned.
According to the police, at around 1pm on Sunday, a Paphos resident filed a complaint with the police, claiming that as he was driving home, he noticed that an unknown man was driving a car owned by a friend of his, and who had left the car in his while he was away.
The complainant attempted to confront him, police said, after which the suspect ditched the car and fled.
Upon returning home, the man found that his home had been broken into and that £115 were missing, in addition to the keys of the vehicle that the suspect had attempted to steal.
The suspect was arrested on Sunday afternoon.
