A 23-year-old man was jailed for 30 days on Wednesday, four days after he was caught doing 227 kilometres per hour on the Nicosia to Limassol motorway.
The man also got 15 days in jail for failure to stop when he was flagged down by a police officer but the sentences will run concurrently.
The 23-year-old also had his licence suspended for six months and paid a €500 bond that he would comply with traffic rules for two years.
Police clocked the man last Saturday at 7.20am doing 227km/h on the motorway in the Latsia area, where the speed limit is 100km/h.
He was located shortly afterwards and was taken to a police station for processing.
