A 52-year-old man was killed on Thursday after falling from a five-metre high scaffold and hit his head during work at a construction site in Limassol.
The man was working on the construction of warehouses in Zakaki when the incident happened.
The reportedly self-employed man had been painting the warehouses with his son when he apparently lost his balance and fell, hitting his head on a steel beam.
An ambulance rushed the man to hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Preliminary investigation by labour inspection officers found a lack of safety measures at the site.
It appears the platform he was working on was unsuitable and there was no fall protection.
