Seven large buses and a minibus owned by Kapnos & Sons Transport Co. were completely destroyed by fire in Aradippou on Monday night. According to the police, they received information about the fire at 3.10 am at the bus parking lot located on Freedom Avenue in Aradippou.
Members of the fire service were dispatched to the scene and were able to put out the fire but it completely destroyed seven buses and a minibus. The value of the damage is still unknown.
Officers from Aradippou police station and Larnaca CID visited the scene and from the first appraisal said the fire seemed to be arson.
The scene has been blocked and guarded, and police are expected to continue their investigation later today in co-operation with the Fire Service.
The site is covered by CCTV footage which is being examined by police.
The buses were insured.
