Woman injured in house fire

Share this:

A woman was transferred to hospital after sustaining first-degree burns to the face and inhaling fumes after putting out a fire that broke out in her house in Pervolia, in Larnaca on Thursday morning.

The fire service said they were alerted at around 10.40 am.

The blaze started from an electric air-heater plugged into a multi-socket adapter and damaged the house’s electrical installation.

The woman managed to put out the fire before the fire service arrived, but in doing so suffered first-degree facial burns and inhaled fumes. She was given first aid by the firemen who had been called in to put out the blaze and was transferred to the Larnaca general hospital.

The fire and heat damaged furniture and electric appliances, while the smoke damaged the paint and contents of the entire house.
