Paphos police arrested two people on Sunday night for trying to leave the country on forged documents.
According to police, a 60-year-old Syrian went to the airport where he presented a Syrian passport with a residence permit in his name in order to leave on a plane for Dusseldorf.
During passport control it became clear the documents were false and he was arrested.
In a second incident, a 24-year-old from the United Arab Emirates also went to Paphos airport to take a flight for Budapest.
He presented a UAE passport that expired in 2021 and a boarding card. On inspection the passport was forged although it had an arrival stamp from the occupied areas at Christmas.
He appeared before Paphos District Court on Sunday, where a three day remand order was issued against him.
