Amidst tight police security, Elias Mouzos, 38, set to face trial over a gangland shooting of police officers was taken to Paphos district court on Friday along with four other suspects for a separate drugs-related case.
Officers took Mouzos from the Nicosia central prisons where he is being held, to court where he, along with three men aged 31, 36, 39 and a 33-year-old woman face charges in connection with conspiring to commit a crime, illegal possession of a class A drug and the illegal supply of the drug.
The alleged offences were committed between September 2017 and May 5, 2018, the night when Mouzos shot at two police officers. After a nationwide manhunt, he was arrested a few days later.
Paphos court set the case hearing for July 27.
