Police arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of drug possession with intention to sell on Friday afternoon, authorities said on Saturday.
According to police, the man, from Ormideia, and another man, 26, were stopped while driving by the police’s drug squad, Ykan, at approximately 3:30pm.
During their investigations police found five containers with approximately one gram of cannabis in each on the floor of the vehicle driven by the 26-year-old. Police also found a cannabis cigarette.
After a body-check, police found a bag containing .2g of cannabis on the 23-year-old.
Investigations were then carried out at the homes of both men. Nothing illegal was found at the 26-year-old’s house, while at the 23-year-old’s home police found two bags containing 1.5g and .3g of cannabis, a bag containing .5g of cannabis resin and a scale with traces of cannabis.
The 23-year-old was taken in to custody.
