4.6 Richter Earthquake Shakes Northern Greece

An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale shook central Macedonia early Saturday, according to the Institute of Geodynamics at the National Observatory of Athens.

The announcement said the tremor struck at 3:20 at a point 218 kilometers north of Athens, in an undersea area east of Paliouri, Kassandras.

There were no reports of damages.
