Police immigration officers carried out spot checks in Larnaca and Famagusta on nine employers and 87 employees, 26 of whom are third country nationals, 46 are EU citizens and 15 are citizens of the Republic of Cyprus.
Seven of the third country nationals were found to be illegally employed and were arrested and five employers were booked.
Another two third country nationals were found to have entered and be living illegally in the Republic and were arrested.
Labour Ministry inspectors were informed and six administrative fines were issued for undeclared work totaling €28,5000.
