The total rainfall since October 1 2017 is currently at 81% of normal (average water year) but May was unusually wet with precipitation standing at 232% of normal.
According to data provided by the Meteorology Department rainfall in Nicosia reached 216% of the average for the month and in other areas of Cyprus the following precipitation was recorded, Larnaca Airport 274%, Paphos Airport 485%, Polis Chrysochous 540%, Pano Panayia 114%, Stavros tis Psokas 242%, Prodromos 493%, Platania 149%, Saitta 410%, Kellaki 499%, Kornos 80%, Lithrodontas 201%, Gefyri tis Panayias 690%, Athienou 194%, Xylotimpou 41% and Frenaros 51%.
