A post-mortem carried out on a 65-year-old man who died in Cyprus while on holiday did not reveal his cause of death, the state pathologist said on Tuesday.
Ukrainian national Vasyl Voychuk died on Monday morning while in Ayia Napa. After a swim at Pantahou beach he lost consciousness as he began approaching the shore and fell in the water.
An ambulance rushed him to a private clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
On Tuesday, a port-mortem was carried out by state pathologist Nicolas Charalambous who found the exact cause of death could not be determined.
Lab tests are now pending to provide more answers, specifically toxicology and histopathological tests.
Voychuk had arrived in Cyprus with his wife on May 25 and was set to depart on June 8.
