November 17 Killer Gets Leave from Greek Prison (video)

November 17 hitman Dimitris Koufodinas walked out of the Korydallos jail on Tuesday on a 48-hour prison leave, the third since last November.

His wife and son met him outside the jail, west of Athens. A small group of supporters was also present.

Koufodinas — currently serving a number of life sentences for crimes including murder – had been on hunger strike demanding prison leave, granted to him last Thursday.

There has been a wave of actions in Athens in recent weeks by far-left groups in support of the jailed gunman’s quest for more prison leave.

The 17 November terrorist group was formed in 1975, and it is believed that it was disbanded in 2002, after the arrest and trial of a number of its members.

The group assassinated at least 23 people in 103 attacks; all of which were U.S., British, Turkish and Greek targets, and many more who were not targets but who just happened to be at the wrong place, at the wrong time.
