A yellow alert was called at Larnaca airport on Sunday afternoon when suspicious items were detected on an aircraft.
According to police the alert was raised at 3pm when a cleaner spotted suspicious items on a plane from which the passengers had just disembarked.
The authorities were duly notified, the items were examined and it was determined that there was no immediate danger. They were then sent for scientific tests.
“The yellow alert ended around 5.50pm, and there was no particular impact on Larnaca’s flight schedule,” Hermes airport spokesman Adamos Aspris commented.
