Ayios Nicolaos high school in Limassol was damaged by a fire on Tuesday evening.
According to police, the fire started in a teachers’ room on the ground floor.
The fire service was called to respond and managed to extinguish the fire around 11:49 pm.
Furniture, equipment and the interior walls of the room were damaged. According to president of Limassol School Board Dinos Ellinas the cost of the damage is around €20-€30,000.
Police said they are investigating a case of arson.
“It is a quiet school, but it seems that a problem occurred, maybe after the final grades were given to pupils and some delinquents caused these damages,” Ellinas said.
