The fire service was called to respond to a fire that started after an explosion at K Cineplex in Strovolos on Wednesday morning.
The explosion was heard around 4:40 am. First estimations point to a short-circuit that resulted from maintenance work that is currently done in the cinema.
The building’s facade and the main entrance have been damaged.
Staff said that the cinema will reopen for the public this afternoon.
Authorities are continuing investigations.
