Just before the heat settles in, there’s just enough time to venture up to the villages for a different kind of a day out. Village festivals will soon start to appear celebrating local produce and traditions. This Sunday will see the village of Omodos host the grand opening of the winery Oenou Yi – Ktima Vassiliades.
It’s going to be an eventful day as the opening will be carried out by President Nicos Anastasiades, while the sanctification will be performed by Bishop Georgios of Paphos. From 10.30am until 6pm the winery will be open for visitors to experience its grounds and of course its produce.
Wine events will be held throughout the day, including Guided Tours and Wine Tasting. Vasiliki Hadjiadamou and her entourage will entertain the guests with traditional music while wine dance activities by Karotseris Aradippos will take place.
But this isn’t an event just for adults. Children will have the opportunity to get involved in unique craft-making activities.
