Sunny intervals will alternate with cloudy and wet weather on Thursday, bringing problems to roads around the island.
Temperatures are not likely to exceed 14C in most areas and 3C in the higher mountains. For the evening cold weather is predicted, minus 4C in the higher mountains and a few degrees above zero in the rest of the island.
Mainly bright and sunny weather has been forecast for Friday and the weekend, but showers and snow in the mountains have not been ruled out.
Rain and snow, which fell in areas as low as Palaichori, have yet again caused problems to the road network.
In Paphos, due to the overflow of rivers and rock slides the following roads remain closed:
Ayios Nicolaos – Pera Vasa (at the Tselefos bridge, see video below)
Kelokedaros – Amargetis – Natas
Salamiou – Galataria
Ayios Nicolaos – Mandria
Ayios Dimitrianou – Kritou Marottou
The road from Ayios Nicolaos to Kaminaria and Filousa is open but dangerous because of rock and mud slides.
Roads leading to Troodos are accessible only to vehicles with snow chains or four wheel drive.
The height of the snow in Troodos square early on Thursday was 53 centimetres.
