Four suspects in deadly Nicosia fire case due in court

Police have now arrested four people in connection with a fire that led to the death of a 42-year-old Ukranian woman in Nicosia. They are expected in court later on Friday.

Shortly before 3am on Wednesday a café /restaurant on the ground floor of a building on Costakis Pantelides street in Nicosia was torched. The fire also caused an explosion.

The first suspect has been named as Ibrahim Chalil, 32, from Syria. He was wanted and was found in the home of a 22-year-old man in Nicosia on Thursday.

The three pthers suspects, two of which were arrested on Thursday afternoon, are another Syrian national, 21, the 45-year-old bar owner and a 28-year-old man from Nicosia.

The woman who died lived in an apartment on the first floor of the building.
