Two sheep farms were quarantined in Paphos after the animals were diagnosed with bluetongue disease, reports said on Tuesday.
State radio said the veterinary services have imposed a three-kilometre quarantine area around the farms.
Bluetongue disease is a non-contagious insect-borne disease that does not affect humans.
The main symptoms are high fever, salivation, swelling of the face and tongue and cyanosis of the tongue.
