A man who was hit by a car shortly after midnight last Thursday in Paphos and was in critical condition in hospital has died late on Tuesday.
The man had no ID on him at the time and was initially believed to be a tourist in his 70s but was later identified as a 61-year-old resident of Paphos.
He was crossing Danae avenue in Kato Paphos when the accident occurred.
He underwent surgery and was being treated in the intensive care unit of Paphos general hospital.
The vehicle was driven by a 32-year-old resident of Paphos who was arrested and given a breathalyzer test which showed he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. The driver was released on Friday.
