The number of visitors to the north rose to around 1.4m in the first nine months of the year, a 3.5 per cent annual rise, Turkish Cypriot media reported on Tuesday.
The figures concern people who travel to the north either by air directly or by ship, daily Kibris said.
The majority of visitors, 77.4 per cent, are Turkish nationals whose numbers showed a five per cent rise.
Other nationalities have dropped 1.5 per cent.
A significant rise was seen in visitors from Australia, 138.5 per cent, while visits from Fins rose 114 per cent.
Almost all visitors, or 95 per cent, arrive in the north by plane.
