A fire has broken out in difficult terrain near Arsos in the Limassol district, with fire fighters doing battle with the blaze from land and air.
Fire fighters’s efforts are being hampered by strong winds.
The fire service and forestry department has sent nine fire trucks to the area, while water dropping aircraft are assisting from the air.
