A man suspected of stealing €5,000 from a farmer’s car in Paphos on Tuesday was arrested later in the day.
The farmer admitted he had left the money in the unlocked vehicle in an envelope on the front seat for a few minutes. When he returned the money was gone.
Police have evidence that the arrested man, 36, was involved, though he refuses to admit any involvement with the theft.
The suspect is also believed to have stolen a handbag of a woman from a car on August 9 after breaking the window of the vehicle. There was no money in the bag but only a set of keys.
