Over 46,000 vehicles in the north have not passed roadworthiness tests, according to Turkish Cypriot Kibris daily.
According to the report, this has cost Turkish Cypriot authorities around €9m in lost revenues.
Kibris said more than 46,000 vehicles have not passed the necessary inspections in the past three years and authorities were trying to find ways to help owners pay the cost through instalments or discounts.
Topping the list without MOT are luxury vehicles, the paper said. There are also more than 4,000 motorcycles on the list.
