A British tourist got more than he bargained for when his up-close encounter with a departing Airbus A321 sent him flying — literally.
Paul Turner from Cheshire, England was on the Greek island of Skiathos filming a departing Thomas Cook flight.
The island’s airport is well known for its low landings and planespotters can get very close to the runway’s end.
As the plane’s engines power up for takeoff, Turner is sent head over heels by the force of their blast. Experienced planespotters on Skiathos usually hold on to the perimeter fence, but in this case, the engines’ power was more than enough to send Turner on a short flight of his own.
