The fire services were called to a house in Tremithousa in Paphos late on Tuesday afternoon after a toddler’s foot got caught in the pool’s skimmer.
The two year old was playing at the pool under the supervision of his parents, when his foot went through the plastic cover and was trapped in the skimmer.
When the parents were unable to free the child, the fire service was called in and using special equipment broke the area around the skimmer to free the child. He was taken to Paphos hospital as a precaution and then returned home.
