June packs in summer music parties

High school and university students are just about finished with their exams, returning to the island for another summer of fun. Those who live and work abroad are packing in their annual leave to enjoy a few days of sunshine and beach time, just like every year.

Beach bars have opened their doors for another eventful season of live performances and music parties. June is full of them and with a couple already gone, three major events are coming up which are sure to entice the crowds.

First up, is Music Element, a party on Ayia Triada beach in Paralimni featuring hot hits of house, electro and trance music. It’s an extravagant show with fireworks, visual effects, merch, make-up art and a large stage where DJs rock the decks. The beach is almost unrecognisable as Music Element turns the scene into a vibrant music and dance party. Coming up on Sunday, organisers stress that it’s vital to pre-purchase tickets as often they were sold out.

Another wild summer party that year after year gathers heaps of young people, usually in their mid-20s and 30s, is Mastichoma. Their summer editions tend to be more popular given that more people are on the island and in a mood to party. This year it will be held at Nava Seaside in Protaras on June 23 blasting out tunes from 4pm to 11pm. Parking tends to be difficult in that area so if you don’t want to waste party time stuck in a traffic jam, be sure to drive in groups and park further out.

Limassol will have its own summer party on the same day at the Captain’s Cabin, featuring live performances from a couple of popular Greek singers. Rena Morfi, from Imam Baildi band, will perform at 10.30pm and before her Mariza Rizou will sing from 8.30pm.

Other artists such as Elena Solea, Efthiboulos Theocharous, Dimitris Souroullas, Michael Messios and Lefteris Lefkatis will also entertain the crowds along with the Vinylio House Band.
