Police on Thursday evening arrested a man wanted for damaging police vehicles and being in possession of two kilos of cannabis.
On Tuesday members of the police force, after a tip-off, went to the man’s house to search for drugs.
The 31-year-old was about to get into his car and as soon as he spotted the officers he attempted to escape, damaging three police cars in the process.
He managed to get away, left his vehicle in the area of the British bases and fled on foot.
A hunting gun and two air guns were seized at his home.
The following day, on February 27, police found two packages containing two kilos of cannabis after searching the area near the abandoned car with the help of sniffer dogs.
It is believed the suspect threw the packages out of his car just before he ran away.
The drugs were confiscated by police in the British bases of Dhekelia.
The suspect was arrested shortly before midnight in Ayia Napa.
