Paphos district bore the brunt of last night’s stormy weather, with strong winds and heavy rain leading to fallen trees, flooded roads and electricity cuts.
Electricity has now been restored with EAC crews working overnight to repair damage that affected some Paphos communities as a result of fallen electricity poles.
Road crews worked to clear a road at Kouklia from a fallen tree, while strong winds ripped the roof off a house in Stavrokonos.
The fire service received five calls to deal with flooded streets and basements and fallen trees.
Power cuts affected Stavrokonos, Ayia Varvara, Fasoula, Mandria, Kouklia, Emba, Tala, Kissonerga and the Coral Bay area.
There was heavy rain in Limassol, Larnaca and free Famagusta districts, but no serious problems were reported other than a few uprooted trees in Dromolaxia while the corrugated metal roof was ripped off near Ayios Lazaros in Larnaca.
