THE cabinet decided on Thursday to conduct a study into the efficacy of setting up a ferry line linking Greece and Cyprus.
Shipping deputy minister Natasa Pilidou announced the decision following the cabinet meeting in the morning.
The potential of connecting Greece and Cyprus via ferry is considered something especially positive both for people who have travel-related problems, like aerophobia, but also for the further expansion of Cyprus’ tourism.
Pilidou said a study will be conducted to determine the financial gap likely created by the link so that the cabinet can decide whether to seek the funds from the EU.
