Migrants found in Akamas, fifth group in three days

Ten migrants and refugees were located on a rural road in Paphos on Saturday, after arriving in Cyprus by boat – the fifth group of arrivals in three days.

Police said the nine men and one woman of Arab descent had landed in the Akamas. They were located walking near the Baths of Aphrodite. Six were taken to Polis police station to be questioned about the circumstances of their arrival.

Social services and the civil defence were notified.

The arrival was the fifth in three days.

Sixteen adults and eight children arrived in the Famagusta area on Friday from Syria. Another 16 arrived on Thursday, 10 in Nicosia and six in Paphos, and on August 29, 23 migrants and refugees were found in Akaki.
