The Union of Cypriot Pensioners welcomed the submission and discussion of a bill on men’s’ rights to a widower’s pension to the parliamentary labour committee, but are protesting the fact that it will only affect those widowed on or after January 1, 2018.
The union has asked the government to reconsider its position, seeing the current limitation as unconstitutional and as injustice and discrimination towards men.
