Hot weather is expected over the next few days, with temperatures in Nicosia possibly edging over 40C.
Though the Met office has not yet posted a warning they reported that temperatures, which are forecast to be 37C on Monday, will steadily rise on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
According to website Cyprusnet temperatures will peak at 39C on Thursday, while other websites say they will be as high as 43C inland. All agree that sunny weather will prevail during the week with temperatures being a bit more manageable by Saturday.
On Monday the top temperature will be 34C on the east coast, 31C in other coastal areas and 27C in the mountains.
At night it will cool down to 22C in most areas and 15C in and around Troodos.
