“No one can be specific about when the two soldiers detained in the high security prison of Edirne will be released,” Kouvelis said during a debate in a parliamentary committee, according to the Athens News Agency.
The deputy stated that the two servicemen imprisonment is part of an “unacceptable nationalist tactic” employed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the run-up to the country’s elections.
Kouvelis also said that Ankara will continue with the climate of tension with Greece until the elections, by trying to create issues of grey zones regarding Greek territories in the Aegean and Cyprus’ exclusive economic zone.
